How to Save a Game on a PS2

The only way to save a PS2 game you are in the middle of playing is with a PS2 memory card. The memory card is inserted in the first slot on the front of the PS2, and games are saved during play. You can save an entire game to the PS2 with a hard disk drive. This works like a backup. By saving games to the hard disk drive, you will not risk damaging the hard copy of the game. When playing the game, you will still have to save with a memory card.

Install the PS2 HDD according the directions in the manual provided. The network adapter is required for this step. Make sure the HDD is working properly before continuing.

Look at the disk of the game you wish to copy. The front of the disk will tell you if it is a "CD" or "DVD" game. For "CD" games, use the "CD" version of the HDAdvance. For "DVD" games, use the "DVD" version. You receive both when you purchase HDAdvance.
