Developed by EA Tiburon, the game is rated appropriate for players of all ages. Players are able to select any college football team and play for a single game or an entire season. To improve their performance and unlock hidden aspects of the game, "NCAA Football 08" players can use tips.
  1. Special Teams

    • Many teams in "NCAA Football 08" are not available at the start of the game and must be unlocked by entering in specific codes. To input the codes, players must head to the Pennant Collection screen. To unlock the 2004 All-American team, players must enter "Fumble". Once players enter "Roll Tide," they unlock the All-Time Alabama team. To get the All-Time Louisiana State University team, players must enter "Geaux Tigers". The All-Time Michigan team is unlocked by entering "Go Blue," and players who enter "Boomer" get the All-Time Oklahoma team. The All-Time Texas team is unlocked by entering "Hook Em".

    Abilities

    • Players can unlock special abilities in "NCAA Football 08" by entering codes from the Pennant Collection screen. To make the opposing team have more difficulty catching passes, players must enter "Registering". To make opposing teams fumble more often than usual, players must enter "With EA". By entering "Heisman," players score points every time a team member is removed from a game due to injury. Once players enter "EA Sports," their team is not able to commit any turnovers from fumbles or interceptions. Players who enter "Break Free" gain the ability to get out of tackles. To increase the amount of defensive interceptions, players must enter "Hand Picked".

    Features

    • Players have multiple game modes to choose from in "NCAA Football 08." Other than playing a single game or season, players are also able to hone their skills in a practice game, scrimmage, or drills that focus on specific aspects of football. Players are also able to play Dynasty mode, a game mode that allows complete control of a college football program. Players can lead their team for multiple years and control which players are added to the roster once the season starts. As years pass, players are also able to recruit amateur talent and persuade them to attend their college.
