How to Get Your PS2 Memory Card on Your Computer

You can download files, such as cheats or game saves, to your PlayStation 2 memory card by connecting the card to your computer. All you need is a PS2 MAX Drive device.

Instructions

  1. Copying Files from a Card to a Computer

      Insert the MAX Drive USB device into a USB port on the PlayStation 2. Insert the memory card that you want to transfer to your computer and wait for it to load.

      Choose "My Devices" when the main menu loads. When asked to choose your primary device, select "Memory Card."

      Select all game saves that you want to copy to the computer. Choose "Copy to MAX Drive," then "Yes." Wait for the software to read the files and write them to the MAX Drive device.

      Remove the MAX Drive device from the PlayStation 2. Place the device in a USB port on your computer. View your game saves by opening the "My Computer" menu, then looking under "Devices with Removable Storage." Open the MAX Drive device to see all transferred files.

      Copy the desired game save or other file into the MAX Drive device. Remove the device from your computer.

      Insert the MAX Drive in one of the PlayStation 2 USB ports. Load the MAX Drive disc.

      Select "My Devices" from the MAX Drive main menu. Choose "USB" for your primary device.

      Choose the game files you would like to copy to your PlayStation 2 memory card, then select "Uncrush to MC1." Select "Yes," and wait for the files to finish copying.
