How do I Unlock PS2 DVD & Parental Controls?

Parental controls on the PS2 were designed to stop children from watching content their parents may find objectionable. However, if you've ever bought a used PS2, then you know they can also stop adults from watching movies they own. While it may seem like an impossibility at first to reset the parental controls code if you don't know it in the first place, there is an easy way to bypass any code put in the system. Once you've done that, then you can disable the parental controls for good.

Instructions

  Turn on your PS2 and insert an R-rated disc or any other disc that asks for a parental code.

  Press the "Select" button on your controller when prompted to enter the parental code. The text on the screen will change from "Enter Password" to "Delete Password."

  Using the menu on the screen, enter the code "7444." After inputting this code, the message 'Deletion Complete" should appear on the screen.

  Press select again. You will now be asked to enter a new password. Input a new four digit password. After inputting it once you will be asked to confirm the password by entering it again.

  Press select again and go to "Setup." Under the "Parental Controls" menu, select "Off."
