How do I Erase a PS2 Memory Card?

Erase the game data on your PlayStation 2 (PS2) to clear up valuable storage space and make room for new game information. Your PS2 comes equipped with two memory card slots to maximize storage potential. Manage your memory card's game data through the PS2 "Browser" screen. Access the "Browser" screen from the PS2 main menu, which automatically loads when you start the system without a disc in the disc tray.

      Press the "Power" button to turn off your PS2.

      Insert your memory card into a memory card slot on the front of the system.

      Press the "Power" button again to turn on the PS2.

      Press the "Eject" button on your console if you have a disc in the PS2. Remove the disc from the tray.

      Tap the "Reset" button on the system. The console will restart. The main menu will load.

      Press the "X" button on your controller to select the "Browser" option.

      Press the "X" button on your controller to select the icon of the memory card you want to manage. Your game data will load to the screen.

      Navigate to the data you want to erase with the controller's navigation arrows.

      Press the "X" button on your controller to select the "Delete" game data option on your screen. Repeat this step for each game you want to erase.
