How to Access a PS2 Memory Card

Because your PS2 has no internal memory, you must use memory cards to save game data. The PS2 supports up to two memory cards at once. The cards come in 8MB and 16MB sizes. You can access your PS2 memory card from the PS2's browser and copy data from one memory card to another or delete data.

Instructions

    • 1

Turn off the PS2. Make sure the disc tray is empty. Insert the memory card into "Memory Card Slot 1." If you're using another memory card, insert it into the "Memory Card Slot 2" slot.

    • 2

Turn on the PS2. Wait until the main menu loads.

    • 3

Select "Browser." Select the icon for the memory card you want to access. A list of animated icons representing the saved data on the memory card will be displayed. Select the file you want to access and press the "X" button on the controller to bring up a list of options, such as copy or delete. Choose the option you want. When deleting or copying a file, do not remove the memory card(s) or turn off the PS2.
