How to Read Error SCPH 50001

The SCPH 50001 series is one of the new models of the PlayStation 2 video game console; however, like the SCPH 39001 and other earlier models, the SCPH 50001 is still prone to DRE (Disc Read Errors) after a few years of use. Manually repairing the console will require that you both clean the disc you are attempting to play and clean out the insides of the PS2 console. Be warned, opening the console will void any warranty you have with Sony.
