How to Press L3 on a PS2 Controller

The PlayStation 2 game console controller has two joysticks, four circular buttons and four rectangular buttons located on the top of the controller. Two of these buttons are on the left side of the controller, and the other two are on the right side. They are labeled L1 and L2, and R1 and R2. There is also an L3 button that isn't clearly labeled, but is used in many games.

Instructions

      Place your thumb over the very top of the left analog stick. Make sure the stick is standing straight up and you aren't slightly pushing it to the side.

      Press directly down on the top of the analog stick and it will depress slightly. You will hear a click. This is the confirmation that you have successfully pressed the L3 button.

      The R3 button is depressed the same way with the right thumbstick.
