Things You'll Need
Instructions
Eject the disc from the PS2 drive and look on the bottom of the disc. If there are any fingerprints, smudges or dust on the disc, it may not read properly. Wipe the disc clean with a damp cloth.
Spray a few shots of compressed air into the open drive. If dust is stuck to the drive's lens, the device may not read the disc properly, which could result in the content skipping.
Remove the disc from your PS2 if it is a homemade DVD. There are several DVD formats that do not run on the PS2 slim. This often is determined by the brand of the DVD and how much information is placed on the disc. If the DVD is not playing, it could be due to the PS2 not accepting the format.
Power down the PS2 Slim and let it stay off for a few minutes. If the system is overheating, the disc may not load correctly. Once the system has cooled down power it back up and reinsert the disc.
