How to Remove Scratches From PS2 Discs

A Playstation 2 (PS2) game console uses DVD discs to play games. A scratched PS2 disc will not play properly and must be fixed. You can remove the scratches using a few common household supplies. Fixing the scratches on a PS2 disc does not violate your Sony warranty.

Things You'll Need

Soft cloth
ChapStick
Lint free cloth

Instructions

  Place a soft cloth on a table. Place the PS2 disc label side down on the soft cloth.

  Remove the cap from the ChapStick. Place the end of the ChapStick on the disc to the left of the center hole.

  Move the ChapStick around the disc clockwise while moving out towards the edges. Remove the ChapStick when you've covered the entire surface.

  Rub your finger all over the disc to smooth out the ChapStick.

  Place an edge of the lint free cloth on the disc to the left of the center hole. Move the cloth around the disc clockwise while moving out toward the edges.

  Remove the cloth when you've cleansed the entire surface of ChapStick. The scratches in the PS2 disc are now filled in.
