How to Use a Sony PlayStation 2 Memory Card

Sony&'s PlayStation 2 video game console allows users to play thousands of PlayStation 2 and original PlayStation video games. PlayStation 2 (PS2) requires a PS2 memory card to save game progress. When the storage space on your memory card fills up, you can either delete saved games or transfer some to another memory card to make room.

    • 2

Turn on your PS2, and select the "Browser" option on the startup screen.

    • 3

Select the PS2 memory card icon at the browser menu. A list of all saved game content on this memory card will load and appear in icon format.

    • 4

Scroll through the game icons using the directional pad on your controller. You can view the details of the saved game data by pressing the triangle button, or you may choose whether you would like to copy or delete saved content by pressing the X button. If you want to copy and transfer a file you must have another memory card inserted.

Press the circle button to return to the browser menu, and insert a PS2 video game into the disc tray. When it is done loading, a disc icon will appear on the screen. Select it to load the game. Read the game&'s instruction manual to learn the game&'s saving process.
