How to Play PS2 on a PC Monitor

The PlayStation 2 is one of Sony's most successful consoles, and has continued strong even after the release of the PS3. With the addition of a set of component cables and a component-to-VGA adapter, you can connect your PS2 to your PC monitor in order to play the console without a television.

Things You'll Need

PS2 component AV cable
Female component to male VGA adapter

Instructions

  Set up your PS2 as you would normally, connecting the power cord to an outlet and with the PS2 component AV cable set plugged into the back of the console.

  Insert the male VGA end of the VGA adapter into the VGA port on the back of your PC monitor.

  Connect the PS2 component AV cables to the female component end of the VGA adapter. The cables are color coded, so connect the red, blue, and green cables into the corresponding connectors. You will need to connect the red and white audio cables to a set of speakers in order to get sound.

  Turn on your monitor and power on your console. You should be able to play your PS2 on your PC monitor.
