How to Split a PS2 ISO File

A PS2 ISO file is essentially a full copy of a Playstation 2 game DVD that has been copied onto a computer's hard drive as a single file. Because these files contain an entire game's worth of information, they tend to be fairly large--often into the four- or five-gigabyte range--and therefore somewhat unwieldly to transport. Splitting an ISO file into two or more parts is a good way to make the file a bit more portable, and there are several freeware programs available on the Internet that have been created for just such a purpose.

    • 3

      Launch the file-splitting program.

    • 4

Select the "Split a file" option--this option may appear as a button or as a tab, depending on your program of choice. From there, click the "browse for file" button and select the PS2 ISO on your hard drive. Click "OK" to return to the file-splitter program.

Type in the size of the files you wish to split the ISO into--it may also be necessary to select "custom size" from a drop-down menu, depending on your program. Once you have selected the appropriate size, press the "Start" button, and the program will split the ISO into several equal-sized parts.
