How to Play Burned PS2 Games on a Slim PS2

If you want to play burned disks on your PS2 Slim, you must "mod" your game console. Modding requires the disassembly of your Slim ,but you'll be pleased to know that the process is fairly straightforward.

Things You'll Need

Small Phillips screwdriver
Tissue paper
masking tape

Instructions

  Turn off your Slim and unplug the cables from the back of the device and the controllers from the front of the device. Then turn your Slim upside down.

  Use the tip of your Phillips screwdriver to pop the six rubber screw covers off the bottom of the device. Then remove the screws themselves.

  Turn the unit right side up and gently lift the top housing off. The internal components will now be exposed in the bottom half of the unit.

  Turn the top half of the unit over and locate the small sensor in the bottom corner of the device. Place a small wad of tissue paper over the sensor and tape it to the corner. This will block the sensor, allowing you to play discs that would normally be locked.

  Reassemble your Slim in the reverse order you took it apart. You will now be able to play burned games.
