How to Unlock a Monster Arena in Final Fantasy X

"Final Fantasy X" is a fantasy role-playing game for the PlayStation 2. The game features a main story and many adventure quests that allow you to explore and develop your character party. The Monster Arena is a side quest that is a combination of a monster-capture game and arena battle. However, before you can battle monsters in the arena, you must first capture and collect monsters with special gear provided at the arena. You can earn special items and rewards for battling against stronger enemies and completing collections of monsters based on location and species.

Instructions

  Travel to the Monster Arena by using the east exit from the Calm Lands.

  Talk to the owner of the Monster Arena. He will allow you to buy weapons that have the "Capture" ability.

  Purchase and equip the monster-capture weapons from the arena.

  Travel back into the Calm Lands and engage in battle with creatures there.

  Land the defeating blow in the battle with the character using the monster-capture weapon in order to capture the monster. Defeating the monster with magic or override abilities will not capture the creature. The captured monster will vanish after it is defeated.

  Continue to capture monsters in the Calm Lands. You must capture all creatures there before you can begin to capture monsters in other parts of the world.

  Return to the Monster Arena. Now you will be able to pay gold to fight the monsters that you have captured.

  Travel across the world and capture monsters to add to your arena and battle. Defeating certain monsters in the arena unlocks unique rewards in game.
