How to Make Your PS2 Slim Game Disk Work

The PlayStation 2 Slim is a redesigned model of the PS2 that is two-thirds smaller than the previous model. Like all disk-reading devices, the PS2 Slim will occasionally have trouble with reading disks. Getting your CDs, whether they be PS2 disks or DVD movies, can be a somewhat tedious task but not all that difficult.

Laser-eye cleaner
Cloth
Q-Tips
Rubbing alcohol

  Wipe down your CDs. If your PS2 Slim is having difficulty reading your disk, odds are that they are dirty. You can remedy this by using a damp cloth to gently wipe any smudges off the disk.

  Use a CD laser-eye cleaner. Dust and other undesirables can interfere with the PS2 Slim's ability to read disks.

  Clean your disk spinner. If your disk won't spin, it is possibly due to the spinner being impeded by dust and dirt build-up or, if you have kids, something sticky that should not have made it inside your device. Dip a Q-Tip into a small amount of rubbing alcohol and gently scrub the area around the spinner to get it loosened up and working properly.
