How to Open a PS2 Disc Tray

Whether you wish to play a video game or watch a DVD on your Playstation 2, you must open the disc tray and insert the disc into the gaming console. Whereas the original Playstation's disc tray flipped up when opened, the Playstation 2's disc tray ejects similar to a disc tray on a PC. When inserting a game into the gaming console, don't forcefully push the disc tray as that can damage the console.

     Insert the Playstation 2 power cable into the power port on the back of the game console, and plug the other end into an electrical outlet.

     Push the power button on the front of the game console, located on the far right. The light indicator on the front of the console will remain a solid red when it is on.

     Push the "Open" button, located on the front of the game console near the memory card slot.
