Things You'll Need
Instructions
Take the disc that is causing the disc read error in your PS2 and run the scratched surface of the disc under warm tap water.
Apply a small dab of liquid dish detergent to the disc and gently rub it in with your fingers.
Rinse the detergent completely from the disc and place it on top of a layer of paper towels to air dry completely.
Test to see if the disc is working by placing it in the disc tray of your PS2 once it has completely dried.
Apply a small amount of non-gel toothpaste to the entire surface of the disc from the inside of the disc outward to its edges. Allow it to set for five minutes.
Rinse the toothpaste clear from the disc with warm tap water, then place it on top of paper towels and let it air-dry. When inserted into the PS2, the disc should be readable. If it is not, it is too heavily scratched and needs to be replaced.
