How to Put Music on a PS2 Memory Card

PlayStation 2 has a music player built in, and you can save CDs and MP3s on its hard drive and for more space, or on a memory card. There are simple onscreen instructions for saving CDs, MP3s and flash drives from your computer that take just a couple of extra steps. Once you've saved music on a memory card, you can use multiple memory cards for different kinds of music, or just put your music library onto one so it's easily portable.

Instructions

    • 1

Insert the memory card you want to use into your PlayStation 2.

    • 2

Plug in music format you're using---CD (Step 3), MP3 player (Step 5), or flash drive(Step 4)---and wait for the PS2 to recognize it and start up.

    • 3

Follow the onscreen instructions for transferring a CD after putting it into the PS2, and when it asks for a folder to save to, choose the memory card. If the memory card doesn't show up right away, try removing it and reinserting.

    • 4

Connect a flash drive into the USB port with music from your computer, and use your game controller to drag and drop the files from the pop-up folder to the memory card. Click "Select All" to move all of the files, or choose them individually to move select files.

    • 5

Connect the MP3 player or iPod with its USB cable to the USB port and wait for it to show up in the music player. Either click "Select All" or choose individual files and drag and drop them to the memory card.
