How to Fix Browser Screen Freezes on a Playstation 2

Browser screen freezes are a common occurrence among the Sony Playstation 2 video game consoles--they are older gaming systems and have had plenty of time to gather a buildup of dirt and debris inside their hard plastic casings. Assuming you have a precise mechanical touch and are willing to break warranty on your Sony console, you can open up the casing and clean the inside to enable better performance.

Instructions

    • 1

Unplug any cords from the PS2 console and remove any games that may have been left in the disc drive.

    • 2

Place the PS2 on an unfolded newspaper.

    • 3

Unscrew the eight screws from the back of the console using your Phillips head screwdriver. Place the screws safely aside.

    • 4

Carefully open the plastic casing of the PS2 and set it aside.

    • 5

View the insides of the system and locate the disc assembly to the right.

    • 6

Unscrew the top of the disc assembly with your Phillips head screwdriver and place both the screws and plastic cover to the side.

    • 7

Use the can of compressed air to clean out the system. Blow away any loose dust and debris.

    • 8

Use your tweezers to carefully remove any large foreign objects that weren't blown away with the compressed air.

    • 9

Replace both the disc assembly cover and the PS2's plastic casing.
