Instructions

  1. Open and Clean PS2

    • 1

Make sure the PS2 is unplugged from all outlets and all power cords have been removed.

    • 2

Remove the eight screws on the back of the PS2 with your Phillips head screwdriver.

    • 3

Remove the PS2's outer shell and look to the right of the system to see the disc tray cover.

    • 4

Unscrew the disc tray cover with your Phillips head screwdriver and carefully lift the top off.

    • 5

Use your tweezers to remove large foreign objects and dirt build-ups. DO NOT disturb the laser eye or any of the mechanical components.

    • 6

Blow away any remaining dust and debris using your can of compressed air.

    • 7

Replace the disc tray top and the plastic PS2 cover.

    Clean Your Game Disc

    • 8

Look over the game disc for scratches and cracks. If the disc features deep scratches, the console will be unable to read it regardless of what you attempt.

    • 9

Spray CD-ROM solution on to the underside of the disc.

    • 10

Take your light cloth and rub away any dirt, smudges and fingerprints on the disc. Make sure to wipe gently in a straight line from the center of the disc to the outer edge. DO NOT wipe in a circular pattern around the disc ring as this can further damage the game disc.

    • 11

Set the game back into the PS2 and play.
