Cheats for Cabela's Big Game Hunter 2005 Adventures for the PS2

The silence of a cold, still morning. The woods surround and consume you, providing an infinite sense of isolation and solitude. Patience is key, eventually leading to the final payoff when you have that big encounter with your prey. Then, in an instant, it's over. Then the trek home with your trophy begins. The good news is, you're already home. That's because you've been playing Activision's "Cabela's Big Game Hunter: 2005 Adventures," for the PlayStation 2. The thrill of the hunt comes home, providing arm-chair sportsmen with the chance to go out on the big hunt, even if they can't afford the gas for the trip. Of course, everybody needs a little help now and then, which is why these tips and trick might just prove handy to the digital huntsman.
  1. Higher Scoring Animals

    • Restart the map if the animals on the map you're playing on aren't up to your standards for score. Higher scoring animals will now be on the map.

    Quick and Clean

    • Aim slightly below the arrow for an easy, clean, one-shot kill. This trick only works if your gun is correctly sighted.

    Unlimited Run

    • Use the deer feeder or tripod stand to exploit this glitch. Place the feeder or tripod on a hill so that the "Unable to place item" message appears. Keep it up until the screen fills up, and the messages disappear.

    Rifle Recommendation

    • The ideal rifle for hunting any game is the 30-06 semi-automatic Sportster. This rifle is ideal when sighted at the farthest target on the sighting range, but is also effective when sighted to your comfortable range. If shooting at the longest range, do not try to aim above the animal. The 30-06 doesn't drop much, so there's no need to compensate.

    Survival Gear

    • To gain the best survival set, start a career and go to the Jaques Pine Lodge and Store. Buy the 30-06 bolt rifle; Alaskan Guide 3.5-10AO rifle scope; medium weight tent; any optical device such as binoculars or a sighting scope; tripod stand; all available hydration bladders; all food packs; the medical kit; and the cover scent. This set-up may seem cumbersome, but pays dividends when hunting dangerous wolverines in Needleleaf.

    Beginner Gear

    • The ideal beginner setup consists of the Sportser semi-automatic rifle, antlers for a call, the first available urine can and a tree stand. These come in handy in a spot with good deer hunting. Shotguns are also an effective beginner choice.
