How to Use a USB Memory Card on Playstation 2

The Sony PlayStation 2 requires the use of a memory card to save and store game data. The PS2, however, comes with USB ports that would reasonably allow USB drives to be inserted into the PS2 as memory cards. Unfortunately, not all USB drives are programmed to serve as PS2 memory cards, and the most dependable of the drives that can is the CodeJunkies MAX Drive. This device is as simple to use as a PS2 memory card.

Things You'll Need

Instructions

    • 1

Insert the USB drive into an available USB port located on the front side of your PS2.

    • 2

Turn your PS2 on without a disc in the drive, but with a single memory card in a memory slot.

    • 3

Select the "Browser" option in the PS2 main menu.

    • 4

A group of symbols should appear representing your PS2 memory card and your USB drive. Select your PS2 memory card with the "X" button.

    • 5

Find a file you wish to copy and select the "X" button. Select the "Copy" option from the new menu that appears.

    • 6

Select the USB drive as the destination with the "X" button, and select the "Yes" option with the "X" button to copy the file. The file should then copy itself to the USB drive.
