How to Erase PS2 CD Files

The PlayStation 2 is a gaming console manufactured by Sony. The console plays video games and stores data and files from those video games on a specially formatted PlayStation 2 memory card. Deleting these CD files is relatively easy: it can all be accomplished by navigating to the memory card files from the main screen of the PlayStation 2 and using the PlayStation 2's controller to select and delete specific files.

  Press the "Open" button on your PlayStation 2 console to open the CD tray and to boot up the PlayStation 2 system. With the CD tray open, the PlayStation 2 console will not automatically load the disc in the tray and you can access the memory card menu from the main screen.

  Check to make sure the memory card containing the CD files you want to delete is inserted in the PlayStation 2's memory card slot.

  Use the directional buttons on your controller and select the "Browser" option with the "X" button.

  Choose the memory card icon on the new screen.

  Use the directional buttons on the controller to highlight the CD file you wish to delete. Press the triangle button on the controller and select "Delete." Confirm that you wish to delete the file by pressing "X." Executing this command will erase the file.
