How to Save PlayStation Games on a PS2 Card

The PlayStation 2 console supports both PlayStation (PS1) and PS2 games. However, it does not allow PS1 games to directly save onto a PS2 memory card. The limited file storage of the PS1 memory card does not allow players to save data from many games on it. It is possible, however, to save PS1 games to a PS2 memory card, using the PS2 browser to take advantage of the larger storage size.

Insert a PS1 memory card and PS2 memory card into each memory card slot on the console.

    • 3

Select the PS1 memory card from the browser menu.

    • 4

Select the game data on the memory card that you want to save onto the PS2 memory card. A menu will appear.

    • 5

      Select ̶0;Copy̶1; from the menu.

    • 6

Select the PS2 memory card as the copy destination for the copy.

    • 7

Confirm you want to copy the data by selecting ̶0;Yes̶1; from the prompt. The PS1 game will be saved onto the PS2 memory card. This game will not be removed from the PS1 memory card by this process.
