Cheat Mode
"Midnight Club: Los Angeles" has a cheat mode which can be unlocked after a specific number of hidden "Rockstar" barrels are found. For example, to get unlimited nitro for your car, you need to find 10 barrels; to never damage out requires 20 barrels; unlimited special abilities -- 30 barrels; top-down view -- 40 barrels; no police -- 50 barrels; no fines -- 60 barrels.
However, while these cheats can make the game more fun and help you win races, using them can result in your progress in the career mode being stopped. You will be unable to earn money or reputation points from races with these cheats on.
Teleport
To get to the next race in "MCLA," you have to drive clear across the city, taking time which could otherwise be spent racing. Luckily, the game offers players a way to teleport to get to the next location quickly. To do this, enter the race editor at any point in the game. From the race editor, switch out of the "drag and drop" mode and go to the editor's city map. Move the pointer where you would like to go (this is usually where your custom race would start). Re-enter the "drag and drop" mode and leave the race-editor screen. Your car should now be at the point where you moved the pointer. This cheat is great if you already know your way around the city and just want to get to the next location quickly.
Free Parts
Normally you have to spend your hard-earned money to upgrade your car, but with this cheat you can get those expensive parts for free. For this to work, go to the "Garage" section of the game. Go into the performance-parts section and purchase the parts, but do not install them. Instead, enter the main menu and join an online racing session. At the start of the online race, the parts will be installed on the vehicle without a deduction in money. If you quit the online session the parts will remained installed on the vehicle.
