Installing the EyeToy
Connect the EyeToy to your computer using a vacant USB port. A pop-up will say either "Eye Toy Namtai" or "Eye Toy Logitech." Make note of this.
Unplug the EyeToy from your computer.
Right-click a blank area on your desktop. Select "New" and highlight "Folder." Download the drivers (see Resources below) for the EyeToy and save them to this folder. The driver is D-Link DSB-C310 v1.10.
Extract the contents of the driver to this folder. Open "OV519.inf" using a text editor (Notepad is sufficient). Press "CTRL" and "H" at the same time.
Replace all lines of "VID_05A9&PID_8519" with "VID_054C&PID_0154" if your camera identified itself as Logitech or "VID_054C&PID_0155" if your camera identified itself as Namtai.
Use the same method to search for DeviceDesc="D-Link VGA Webcam." Replace the text between the quotes with "Eye Toy."
Save the file using the same name. If prompted, unselect "Read only" mode for the file (only if it asks).
Reconnect the EyeToy to your computer. When prompted for the location of the driver, do not connect to Windows Update. Instead, select the folder you recently created with the contents of the driver. The webcam is now fully functional.
Activating the Microphone
Open Control Panel.
Go to "Sounds and Audio Devices."
Choose the Audio tab. In the drop-down box for Sound Recording, choose "Eye Toy."
Click "Apply" and then click "OK." The EyeToy is now a fully functional webcam. The microphone has been set as your computer's primary sound recording device.
