True Crime: Streets of LA PS2 Cheats

"True Crime Streets of LA" is a video game developed by Luxoflux for Playstation 2. This is an "open-map" game that draws heavily on the "Grand Theft Auto" video game series. The difference is that the main character is a police officer investigating a series of crimes in Los Angeles. Several cheats allow you to get through the game more easily and personalize certain in-game aspects.
  1. Cheat Codes

    • In the tradition of old eight-bit video games, "True Crime: Streets of LA" has several cheat codes you activate by pressing buttons on the controller in a certain pattern. To perform any of these cheat codes, you must first go into the map screen of the game. To unlock all of the game's driving upgrades, press "Left, Right, Left, Right" and the "X" button. To unlock all the cars in the impound garage, press "Up, Right, Down, Left, Up" and the "X" button. You can also use this tactic to unlock Snoop Dogg (a hidden character) by pressing "R1, L1, Up, Right, Left, Down, L3, R3, X, Square, Circle" and "Triangle."

    License Plates

    • The game has an area where you can personalize your license plate. While this adds a neat aspect to the game, it can also be used to change your main character. While typing out the plate, type "FATT" to change the main character into a police officer with a higher rank (rank is important in this game and your character will go up and down rank in relation to his actions). To become an army commando, type "M1K1." If you want to turn the main character into a biker, make the license plate read "HAWG."

    Computer Driving

    • Driving is a big part of the action. As your player gets assigned to new cases, you will have to drive to various locations. Driving can take a toll on your status. However, there is a way to get to your destinations without creating too much havoc along the way. Once you start a new mission, don't touch the controller at all and let the pre-mission movie play all the way through. When the movie is completed, the game will automatically drive your car to where you need to go, obey all traffic laws and keep away from pedestrians. This helps you maintain a high "good" status.
