How to Disassemble a PS2 Slim

The Playstation 2 slim is the thinner, smaller version of the original Playstation 2. The PS2 slim plays all of the same games as the original Playstation 2 but has fewer USB ports. The slim has a sleeker look and is much easier to carry around from one friend's house to another.

Things You'll Need

PS2 slim
Small flat head screwdriver
Small phillips head screwdriver

Instructions

  Disconnect the wires of your PS2 slim so it is turned off. Turn the PS2 slim upside down and find the six plastic screw covers. Remove the six plastic screw covers with a flat head screw driver.

  Unscrew the six screws while still holding the PS2 slim case together. Using the screwdriver or your fingernails, remove the warranty sticker on the back of the PS2 slim.

  Flip the PS2 slim upright. Lift the top part of the case upward, and it should come off easily. You can now see the inside the PS2 slim.

  Remove the three screws from the cooling fan. After removing the screws, disconnect the wires connected to the fan. Your PS2 slim is completely disassembled.
