Final Fantasy XII
"Final Fantasy XII" improves an already impressive formula with another epic entry in the "Final Fantasy" series. No longer will players wander around a world and randomly encounter enemies that then cuts to another screen; for the first time, all battles are fought in real time. The game's six heroes, Van, Penelo, Basch, Balthier, Fran and Ashe, feel similar, but as you progress through the game, you can customize each of them with different magic and weapons. The game is incredibly long with a multitude of bosses and minigames, including one fight that can take several hours.
Kingdom Hearts 2
"Kingdom Hearts 2" is an action-RPG. Players control Sora, a boy who is trying to find his way home, but who must first overcome a host of enemies and obstacles that stand in his way. You're not alone, however, as Disney's strongest allies come to your aid. Donald Duck and Goofy, controlled by the computer, assist you, along with other Disney heroes such as Aladdin, Jack Skellington and Mulan. Using Sora's keyblade sword, you will slash your way through the bad guys, increasing your power and magic. In addition to Disney foes like Ooogie Boogie and Ursula from The Little Mermaid, it is up to you to stop Organization XIII, a group of people with great strength and bad intentions.
Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock
Be the rock star you always wanted to be with "Guitar Hero III." Grab the guitar-shaped controller and mash your way through classic rock, modern alternative or heavy metal. Up to two players can join in on the fun. The game's control is based around memorizing patterns. There is a learning curve involved, as you begin to hit the right cords. The game features popular songs from bands such as the Beastie Boys, Rage Against the Machine, Black Sabbath, Aerosmith and many others.
Mega Man X8
Another installment in the "Mega Man X" series, this game lets you take control of three characters: Mega Man X, Zero, and newcomer Axel. All three are play differently and will help you in your quest to defeat the eight robot masters. The graphics in this game are a fantastic mix of classic 2D, side-scrolling action with many backgrounds moving about in 3D. Controls are a vast improvement from the often-clunky "Mega Man X7." Classic "Mega Man" villains such as Vile and Sigma return, but along with them come a slew of new baddies.
