How to Change the Password on a PS2

The Sony Playstation 2 (PS2) has a password-protected parental control option. This option prevents the viewing of DVDs that may be inappropriate for your children. Changing your parental control password on the PS2 is a simple process.

Instructions

      Insert a DVD into your Sony PS2.

      Press the "Select" button on the controller after the DVD begins playing (the ">" symbol will briefly display on the upper-right side of the screen).

      Scroll to the "Briefcase" (Setup) icon. Click "X," and then select "Custom Setup."

      Scroll down to "Parental Controls." Enter your current password.

    • 5

      Scroll down to "Change Password" and hit "X." Enter your new password, then re-enter it for verification.
