How to Use the Devil Trigger on Devil May Cry 3: Dante's Awakening

Capcom's "Devil May Cry 3: Dante's Awakening" for the PlayStation 2 expands on the story of Dante by telling one of his first stories. Since this game is a prequel, it takes place before Dante has reached the zenith of his demonic power. This can prove to be confusing for some gamers, since Dante cannot use his infamous Devil Trigger abilities at the beginning of the game. Once obtained, however, the Devil Trigger is quite easy to use.

Instructions

  Play "Devil May Cry 3: Dante's Awakening" up to Mission 7: "A Chance Meeting."

  Defeat Vergil in Mission 7. You can do this by using your guns to shoot at Vergil while he performs his attacks. If you stay in the air, it will be very difficult for him to hit you. You cannot complete Mission 7 until you have defeated Vergil.

  Press L1 at the beginning of Mission 8: "A Renewed Fear" to activate Devil Trigger mode. From this point on, you can activate Devil Trigger every time you press L1.
