How to Counter on Street Fighter 3rd Strike

Street Fighter 3: 3rd Strike is one of many Street Fighter games to be released since the original in 1987. The 3rd Strike game was released on several platforms, including the Dreamcast, Playstation 2 and Xbox. While there's no way to perform an actual counter, your opponent can be left open to attack if you use a technique called "parrying."

Instructions

    • 1

Recognize that your opponent is going to attack and try to judge whether the attack will be high, low or jumping.

    • 2

Tap forward against high, medium, or jumping attacks, or tap down against low attacks. If you tap at the same time as the attack connects, you will be able to gain a small frame advantage.

    • 3

After the parry, both characters are frozen for at least 16 frames. Additionally, the character that attacked will be frozen for an additional four frames if the attack parried was a jab or short, three frames if it was a strong or forward and two frames if it was a fierce or roundhouse.

    • 4

Choose an attack that can be executed within your frame advantage to perform a counter while your opponent is helpless.
