How to Change Parental Control on PS2

Sony's PlayStation 2, commonly referred to as the PS2, comes from the factory with strong parental controls. This causes you to be prompted for your password each time a restricted film is entered. You can change your parental controls by making the filter weaker, stronger or turn it off.

Instructions

    • 1

Insert a restricted DVD into your disc drive. When the parental control menu appears, enter your four-digit password to access the movie.

    • 2

Play the movie, once the main title screen appears. The DVD must be playing to change the parental control.

    • 3

Press "Select" on your controller to enter the PS2 DVD menu. Choose "Setup" on the second row of options and hit "X."

    • 4

Scroll over to "Custom Setup" when the setup menu appears, and then scroll down and select "Parental Control" and hit "X." Enter your four-digit password.

    • 5

Scroll down to "Level." Change the parental control setting at this menu. The setting ranges one through eight, with eight being the most strict. You can also chose "Off" to turn the parental control off. When you are finished, hit "X."
