How to Play PS2 on a TV Without Audio Video Connection

Playstation 2 video consoles use RCA jacks to send audio and video signals to your television. The cable, which comes with the video console, plugs into the back of the Playstation 2 and has a red, white, and yellow RCA jack on the opposite end. If your TV doesn't have an audio/video connection, you will need to purchase an RCA RF modulator video converter or RCA converter.

Instructions

  1. How to Play PS2 on a TV Without Audio Video Connection

    • 1

Plug in the television, PS2 and power cord to the converter, if it has one. A surge protector strip would be useful for this.

    • 2

Turn the television to channel 2 or 3 to receive the PS2 signal.

    • 3

Plug the coaxial end of the converter into the television. Make sure the connection is tight by using pliers if needed.

    • 4

Plug the RCA jacks from the PS2 into the converter. Make sure the colors match up from the cords to the converter.

    • 5

Power on your PS2 and you should get the start up screen and sound on your television. If you have either video with no sound or sound with no video, you probably have a loose connection. Tighten the connection.
