How to Download PS2 Games

A PlayStation 3 owner can download PlayStation 2 games to his console to play without needing a game disc. Manufacturer Sony authorizes PS2 games to be downloaded only through the PlayStation Network. The service can be accessed only through a PS3 console. You must purchase a PS2 game to download it. It is fully playable from the PS3 hard drive.

      Open the PlayStation 3 main menu by pressing the "PS" button on the controller or by powering on the console without a game disc inserted.

      Select the "Playstation Store" option.

      Select the "Games" category.

      Select the PlayStation 2 title you want to purchase.

      Select the option to download the game. Confirm that you wish to purchase the PS2 game and wait as the game is downloaded to your PS3 console.
