Installing the Network Adapter
Locate the rectangular expansion bay cover on the rear of the PS2. If your PS2 is placed horizontally, it will be located on the bottom-left of the console. If your PS2 is placed vertically, it will be located in the upper-left.
Grip the indentation on the expansion bay cover with your finger and carefully remove the cover from the system.
Place the PS2 network adapter over the expansion bay, with the adapter's console connector firmly connected to the PS2's expansion bus connector.
Fasten the network adapter's mounting screws with a coin in a clockwise direction. Make sure the adapter is secure, but do not overtighten the screws, since this could damage the device.
Setting Up a Network Connection
Connect an Ethernet cable to the console's "Network" port. On an original model PS2, this port will be on the network adapter. On the Slimline model, the port will be on the rear of the console. Connect the other end of the cable to a network device such as a modem or router.
Connect a telephone cord to the "Line" port on the network adapter if you wish to connect using dial up instead. Connect the other end to a phone line. The Slimline model does not support dial up.
Insert a memory card into the PS2 and turn on the system.
Insert a network compatible PS2 game. Follow the game's instruction manual to connect to the online network.
