Usage
Plug the Playstation 2 Slim into an outlet and connect it to a television set using composite cables. The system can play all Playstation 2 and Playstation games, which should be placed face-down in the system disc tray. Power on the system by pressing the lit button on the face of the console, and hold the button for several seconds to put the system in standby mode. To turn the system off, deactivate the switch on the back of the console. Leaving the system on for a long duration of time can lead to overheating.
Features
The system features two controller ports but can be upgraded to support four players by a dongle. The Playstation 2 Slim also is compatible with all Playstation 2 accessories, such as "Guitar Hero" controllers or "Dance Dance Revolution" pads. In addition to playing games, the Playstation 2 Slim can play CDs and DVDs. The system features two USB ports on its face that offer compatibility with these and other peripherals. The PS2 Slim can be oriented vertically or horizontally with the use of a stand.
Maintenance
Place the system in an open area that facilitates ventilation and minimizes dust intake. If the lens becomes dirty or damaged, clean it with a PS2 lens cleaner or a cotton swab and 90% isoprophyl alcohol solution. If you choose to clean it with a cotton swab, exercise caution as the lens is sensitive. Use a can of compressed air to clean out the system's disc drive and a soft cloth to clean the system's exterior.
