GameStop
With both brick-and-mortar stores across the country and a website, GameStop is one of the most recognizable buy, sell and trade stores around. In October of 2008, GameStop expanded its size in the United States by purchasing former competitor EB Games and taking over all of their retail locations.
GameStop still accepts Playstation 2 games, according to their website, for trade and to buy. The price that is offered depends on the popularity of the title and the condition of the game.
Swap Your Games
Swap Your Games is an Internet-based company that allows for free sign-up and various rates on the prices they offer for games you want to trade. You indicate to the company, via their website, what games you want to send them and what games you want to trade for. They will send you the game you chose, plus postage-paid envelopes for the games you will send in trade.
While membership is free, a credit card is required on file to insure the company will not get cheated out of games. When they send a game but do not receive one in return, they charge the full retail price of their game onto the card. In addition, untimely shipping of the game you intend to trade or failure to include original instruction booklets can result in charges as well.
Say Swap
Say Swap is an Internet-based company that charges a monthly subscription fee for membership. Say Swap works on the same premise as Swap Your Games, although they require you to send your games to them first, before they send you the game you want in return. You can keep a running list of games you want to trade for and trade in on your account. Postage-paid envelopes for you to send your game to them are provided by the company.
