How to Remove PS2 Parental Control

The PlayStation2 automatically comes with a parental control in place that will ask for a password when you watch most DVDs. If you don't need the parental control for your Playstation2, you can turn it off. Turning off the parental control is simple, and it can be turned back on at any time.       Insert any DVD into your PlayStation 2. When the movie starts, press the "Start" button on the controller to bring up the DVD menu options.

      Move over the options until you locate one that says "Setup". Press the X button.

      Press the right directional button twice to go over to "Custom Setup".

      Select "Parental Control" and press the right directional button. This should put you on "Region." Press the down button to go to "Level."

      Change the level value to "Off". This disables the parental control.

      Eject the DVD from the PlayStation2 and press the "Reset" button. Your changes should now be saved.
