Things You'll Need
Instructions
Keep an eye open for a Playstation 2 at garage sales. With the economy being as tough as it is, a lot of people are selling their possessions for some extra cash. If you luck out, you'll find a family that already has a Playstation 3 or Xbox 360 and is getting rid of their Playstation 2.
Check your newspaper classifieds. Most people selling a Playstation 2 in the newspaper are probably going to be selling them for less than in stores, but because they probably had to pay for ad space they will probably be selling it for more than people at garage sales.
Try Amazon.com. Amazon.com sells a new Playstation 2 for $99.99, which is worth the price, but if you're dead set on a cheaper used system then check the new &used option of Amazon.com. Often there will be a used Playstation 2 available for between $50 and $60.
Check Gamestop.com, which also sells a used, refurbished Playstation 2. They usually sell for $60 to $70. If there is a game in the new and used section from Amazon.com for $50 and it is from a video game store then I would buy that. But if the only $50 used Playstation 2 on Amazon.com is from an individual then it may be worth it to pay the extra $10 or $20 to get a refurbished system from Gamestop.
Go to Google and search for "used Playstation 2" as a last resort. There are a ton of used video game sites that sell used consoles. Keep in mind that a video game site is not as reliable as a website for an actual video game store. These sites might not be as reliable when it comes to getting a system that is still in very good condition.
