How to Start a PS2

Plug all cords into the correct locations on the PS2. This will include all controllers you intend to use, a power cord and, if desired, a telephone line for online PS2 gaming. Each cord is a different size and shape and you cannot plug them into the wrong location.

Place the power cord in a wall outlet very carefully to supply electricity to the unit. A power light should illuminate on the front of the console. This is also where the start button is located.

Open the disc tray by pushing the "Eject" button on the front of your PlayStation 2. The tray will open upward allowing you to insert a gaming disc, music CD or DVD.

Insert the disc of the game you wish to play with the reflective side down into the tray. It should click into position when you properly insert it.

Close the disc tray and push the button with the illuminated "Start" button, which is also a reset button to start your game.

Start playing your game using the controller plugged into port one, or choose to be the player on the left.
