How to Master Nobunaga Oda in Samurai Warriors

Nobunaga is one of the most powerful characters in the game, in addition to being a very famous historical figure. However, he is also difficult to obtain and even more difficult to master. If you think the idea of playing one of the most powerful men in Japan is appealing but have no idea how to go about it, read on.

Instructions

  1. Unlocking Nobunaga

Attaining Nobunaga in the first place takes longer than just about anyone else. To start, play Oichi's story mode through. This should unlock Magoichi Saika.

Play Lady Noh's story through. Whew! At last you've got Nobunaga!

    Playing Nobunaga

    • 6

Don't let it go to your head. Nobunaga may be one of the most powerful characters in the game, but several of his moves leave you vulnerable for an inordinately long time while he charges. While the moves are devastating if you can pull them off, caution is advised.

    • 7

Escape! Some of Nobunaga's moves, most notably his musou attack, are excellent for making quick escapes if you get overwhelmed. This is especially handy in castles or the Abyss where it is very easy to get overwhelmed. To escape, simply charge his musou, let it rip and hold the button down. Before you know it, he will be quite a long ways from where he started.

    • 8

Beware the musou! The flip side of the escape coin is that Nobunaga's musou attack is one of the hardest to get the hang of. He moves around extremely fast, slashing in front of him like a madman. Unless you happen to be very good at controlling fast-moving objects, we recommend saving his musou for a time when there is a larger number of enemies right in front of you or when you need to run away.

    • 9

Use his attack string. Your staple move with Nobunaga should be his simple string of square attacks. These get progressively more powerful and by the end, can bring officers down to half life or kill them outright. It is decent for clearing crowds and does not leave him open like his charge attacks do.

    • 10

Beware the charge attacks! Like his musou, Nobunaga's charge attacks are hard to use effectively. Two of them require long charging times and leave you exposed while his second charge attack takes you well away from where you started at the end of the string. Either use the charge attacks constantly until you have the hang of them or ignore them completely. The former will make Nobunaga more enjoyable, the latter will make for an easier game.

Enjoy! Nobunaga is one of the buffest characters in the game! When normal characters enter gridlocks with grinding swords, he just puts his HAND up to stop the enemy! How tough do you have to be to stop swords like that?
