Where Do I Go After I Fight Baraka on Shaolin Monks for the PS2?

"Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks" retells the events of "Mortal Kombat II" and expands on the plot slightly. The main characters Liu Kang and Kung Lao encounter Shang Tsung's Soul Tombs, the source of his power, but first they have to face Baraka. After defeating Baraka, there is still more of the game to complete to get to Outworld Emperor Shao Kahn.
  1. Wall Run and Wall Jump

    • Before you can progress through the game, you need to get two new platforming abilities: the wall run and the wall jump. The wall run is located in the Wu Shi Academy, which is accessible from the portal that opens after you kill Baraka. The portal takes you to the courtyard of the Wu Shi Academy. Jumping onto a nearby roof lets you get to the wall rampart where there is water flowing along the causeway. Kill the Tarkatan warriors that appear and make your way along the corridor; you should see a statue that can be destroyed with the fist of ruin ability. In the next screen you'll see a token that gives you the wall run ability. Use the wall run by holding "R1" as you approach the wall at a run. Make your way back through the portal to the Soul Tombs and go across the gap to get the wall jump ability, go back to the Wu Shi Academy and make your way to the original portal to the Outworld Nexus.

    Nexus and Wastelands Entrance

    • It turns out that you have to track down Mileena in the Wastelands of Outworld to keep her from telling Shao Kahn about Kitana's defection. Make your way to the slab of tournament medallions, go right, jump up between the two walls, take a left and jump up those two walls. Go right again and you'll come to a closed portal. Kill the Tarkata and shadow priests to open the portal to the Wastelands. After you enter the Wastelands you'll encounter a group of Red Dragon and Black Dragon mercenaries fighting among themselves. Continue along this pathway and up. You'll encounter Kabal, who you save in a cutscene. Pick up the hookswords he drops and go back down and up the pathway on the left. Cut through the corpses blocking the doorway into the next area.

    Pathway to Sub-Zero

    • You'll see a pool of blood and Raiden will appear; throw his staff into the pool and strike the staff with lightning. You need to throw the enemies into the pool as Raiden uses his lightning; try to ignore the fact that Raiden is supposed to be powerless in Outworld. Kill ten enemies in this way, perform the "Test Your Might" challenge and exit through the gate. Drop to the lowest level and go as far left as you can and look for a climbable wall. Look to the left of this and go through the newly-opened gate to fight Sub-Zero.

    Sub-Zero

    • Sub-Zero relies mostly on his freeze and ground slide techniques. Keep your distance, be ready to jump out of the way of his projectiles and counter with your own projectiles, and remember to jump over his slide. After Sub-Zero uses a freeze he is very briefly vulnerable, so use combo attacks during this time to whittle his energy down. After you defeat him and see the cut scene of how he got his scar, Sub-Zero will lead you the rest of the way through the Wastelands until Scorpion appears and Sub-Zero follows him to the Netherrealm and leaves you to take on Goro.

    Goro

    • Goro has two main attacks for the first part of the fight: a head-on charge and fireballs. He also has the ground shockwave technique; jump to avoid it. Fight him in the same manner you did Sub-Zero but rely more on projectiles or charged special moves such as Kung Lao's and Scorpion's spinning hat/harpoon combos. When Goro loses half his health, he rips a pillar out of the ground. Keep away from him and continue using your projectiles and special attacks.
