How Do You Rank Up a Monster in Yu-Gi-Oh! The Duelists of the Roses

With the power of monsters, spells and trap cards, "Yu-Gi-Oh! The Duelists of the Roses" for the PlayStation 2 is a fantasy take on the real life War of the Roses battle in England. Players use characters from the television series to defeat their opponents in card duels with customized decks. These decks are assigned one deck leader to act as the main monster for the team. These deck leaders grow stronger over time and the players defeat more opponents throughout the storyline.

Instructions

  Organize the 40 cards that will make up your battle deck. Select monster, trap and spell cards that can be used to attack and defend against your opponent. Be sure to include cards that work together such as the Warrior monster types and the Return of the Warrior card.

  Select one additional monster card to serve as your deck leader. While the deck leader does not have any attack or defense points, it serves as your moving base during each battle. Place monsters around your deck leader for protection and to allow them to use its special abilities.

  Attack and defend against your opponents to deplete their health points. Once all the points are removed, you will win the battle and move on through the storyline. As you win each battle, your deck leader will be rewarded experience points. When your deck leader reaches a set number of experience points, it will increase in rank which will strengthen your entire deck.
