How to Close a PS2

The Sony PlayStation 2 (PS2) is the predecessor to the PlayStation 3 (PS3) video game console. The PS2 game console is less sophisticated than the PS3, which makes the PS2 somewhat simpler to operate. If you have an old PS2 console, for example, closing out of a video game is a very basic and straightforward procedure. There are no menus to navigate as with the PS3. Closing or shutting down the PS2 system is also very simple.

Instructions

  Press the "Open button," labeled with an icon that looks like a triangle on top of an underline, on the front of the PS2 console. The console's disc cover will open.

  Wait for the disc currently installed in the player to stop spinning. Remove the disc. Place the disc back in its case.

  Press down on the disc cover to close it.

  Push and hold the "Reset" button on the front of the console for a count of two if you wish to turn off the PS2. The indicator light, located next to the "Reset" button, will turn red indicating that the console is now in standby mode.
