Open the lid of the PS2. Locate the hole at the right corner top edge. Roll a piece of paper between your fingers to form a tube.
Push the end of the tube into the hole. Push down until you hear a click. Flatten the top of the tube against the hole. Tape the top of the tube to the PS2 with strips of cellophane tape.
Place the PS1 Gameshark disc on the disc drive's spindle label side up. Press the power switch to turn the PS2 on. Let the main menu appear on the screen before continuing.
Plug a PS2 game controller into one of the game ports on the front of the PS2. Select the "Expert Cheat Mode" setting on the screen, with the direction pad on the controller. Press the "X" button.
Press the "R2" button to scroll down. Continue pressing the "R2" button until you come to the PS2 game you want to play using cheats. Highlight the PS2 game on the screen. Press the "X" button. Press the "Start" button. Select "Yes" from the onscreen window. Press the "X" button. Let the Gameshark disc stop spinning before continuing.
Remove the Gameshark disc. Place the PS2 game you will play with cheats enabled on the disc spindle. Let the disc begin spinning before continuing. Select "New Game" from the onscreen menu. Press the "X" button to start to play the game with cheats enabled.
