Mini Games
There are several mini games you can unlock by collecting certain sets of 10 dragon eggs in each level of the game. Some eggs are hidden around corners in the levels and others you have to work for by chasing an Egg Thief. Collect all of the yellow-green eggs in the game to unlock the Sparx mini game. You need all of the eggs with the star design on them to unlock Sgt. Byrd's mini game. Collecting all the light blue eggs opens up the Blink mini game. Having all of the red and purple eggs together unlocks the Spyro Turret mini game. Open up the character viewer by collecting all of the green eggs with a twirly design on them. You will be able to play as different characters in the mini games.
Unlockable Characters
There are two unlockable characters you can play in the game after conquering it with Spyro and collecting certain sets of eggs. You will be able to unlock the playable character Ember after collecting all of the eggs with flower designs on them. The character Flame is unlocked and playable after collecting all of the fire-designed eggs.
Avoiding Light Beams
A difficult foe named Ineptune uses light beams as a weapon during battle in order to bring down Spyro. Ineptune will sink under the green goop, which is hazardous to Spyro. Do not fall into the goop or you will lose a life and have to start the battle all over. Platforms appear and shoot up one light beam at a time. Avoid those by continuing to move. Ineptune will shoot up several light beams at once in the next round. A simple tip is to jump onto one of the platforms right after the beam is excreted and it will miss you. Once the beam disappears, jump off the platform before it becomes invisible to prevent falling into the green goop. Once Ineptune comes up from the goop, you can fire attacks on him.
Alternate Ending
An alternate ending will show when you complete the game with 100 percent of all the light and dark gems and all sets of dragon eggs. There are 100 light gems and 40 dark gems spread through all levels and a total of 80 eggs to collect. You have a total of 220 items to find to be able to view the alternate ending.
