Enemy Techniques
Large groups of enemies can be difficult to defeat with minimal damage. Certain enemies are weak to certain weapons or combo attacks. Bears can be beat easily by dashing from their attacks and then using combo attack moves to defeat them. Gorillas can be dangerous when they are equipped with a hammer. Avoid their ground pound move and finish them off with combo attacks. Demons are extremely strong and should be avoided altogether. Crabs and stone statues need to be defeated with the hammer weapon. No other attacks will work on these enemies. Flying foes such as bats, bugs and mosquitoes can be defeated easily with a simple combo hit. Spiders can poison you with a bite, causing your view to become jumbled. Defeat them quickly with any weapon.
Boss Fights
All the boss enemies have a pattern to their fighting techniques. Watch the pattern once or twice to gain an upper hand in defeating the enemy. There is ample time between the boss's attacks and when he moves towards you when he is vulnerable to hits. Armored bosses take several hits to remove their armor before becoming weak to your attacks, draining their health. The final boss, the Mutant Gorilla, has a repeating pattern as well. Avoid his fireball attacks and keep running from him when he chases you. When his amulet begins to light up, that is your cue to run over and get a hit or two in. Continue this pattern to conquer the game.
Unlockables
There are several unlockable items you can achieve in each level depending on how high your score is. In Cat Village, you can unlock two videos with a score of 16,270. You can unlock one race and one video in Enchanted Forest with a score of 143,445. In Merodinal Forest, you can achieve one music tune with a score of 211,818. In Dragoncave, you can receive six music tunes, nine models and two pictures with a score of 2,312,820. In Wild Boar Boarax, you can unlock one video, one race, one model and one music tune with 2,598,540 points. Unlock five models, two music tunes and one picture in Nebula Islands with a score of 3,841,194. In the Lost In Haze level, you can unlock a whopping nine music tunes and 13 models with a score of 8,430,000. In Giant Turtle, you will receive one model and one video with a score of 8,439,286. And, in Dragon Flight, you will get one picture with the same score. Additional races can be unlocked as you complete each race.
Crystals and Coins
Collecting crystals and coins will help boost your score quickly. Crystals must be collected by color in order to boost your score bonus. The bonus points go up for every five crystals collected of the same color. If you start collecting different colored crystals, the bonus score drops back to zero and starts over. Coins help boost points depending on what type you collect. Copper coins give you 10 points, silver coins give you 50 points, gold coins give you 100 points, Yuan Baos give you 500 points each and jade coins give you 1,000 points a piece.
