V.1 Copies
Rockstar Games issued a mandatory recall of the game in 2005 to install a patch that removed the Hot Coffee sequence. If you have an unpatched copy of "Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas," the minigame should work fine. A version number (V.1, V.2, and so on) should appear in the bottom right-hand corner of the main menu. If you have a V.1 game, all you have to do is become close enough to one of C.J.'s girlfriends to be invited back to her home for "coffee." Everything should progress from there.
Post-Recall Copies
If you obtained a copy of the game after the recall, it will be patched. The game should crash if you try to access the sequence. However, there are still ways to access the material. Unofficial downgrades are available from the online GTA modding communities. These downgrades require you to put the PS2 DVD into your PC and add lines of code to the game's executable (.exe) file.
The Girlfriends
The key to making the "Hot Coffee" sequence work in the V.1 games is to maintain a close relationship with your girlfriends. Missions make some girlfriends, such as Denise Robinson and Millie Perkins, easier to find. Sex appeal is also very important, and can be increased through the purchase and use of clothing, tattoos and cars. Dates are crucial. Your girlfriend will tell you what type of date (drinking, food, dancing, driving) she wants to go on, and you need to make it as successful as possible. Bring flowers -- they can be found all over San Andreas and selected with L1. If you abandon, abuse or kill your girlfriend, you will fail the dating sequence. Additionally, your own death will cause you to fail.
Rated M for Mature
"Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas" is a title that was marketed for adults. In the United States, the game is rated M for Mature (for ages 17+) by the Entertainment Software Rating Board. This is mainly due to the remaining sexual content in the game, along with its graphic violence and language.
